'You Never Were More Perfect'. Believe It.

March 16, 2015 by Kate Jones

image10   'Amazing things manifest in your life when you open up your heart and learn to let go'. Having travelled since my teens it's comes as no surprise that I possess the traits of a curious, want to expand, go out and get it girl. I have been incredible lucky to have seen a fair amount of this god-given wondrous world and tucked away memories with the most inspirational, interesting and heart hugging humans to dateLet's turn it around. Yes,I get big ideas. Yes, I save like crazy to make these dreams into a reality. And yes, there's moments were I feel like I'm on some David Attenborough show trekking over volcanoes (Tongariro Crossing is a must by the way) but, in fact, all of this mounts to something greater: A fear of standing still.

Yep. I've said it.

The idea of standing still scares the sh**t out of me.

Give me a skydive, one way flight, couch-surfing, cliff jumping, planting myself in a country I've never been before and starting from scratch any day. But standing still, staying in one place...well.

'The direct route to clearing out your heart is to face your fears' Fear is largely based on the truths we tell ourselves. It is an omnipresent universal phenomena, stimulating from that which does not exist. It stops us in our tracks and pins us between four walls sucking us into a whirlwind of lonely lies. Fear is inevitableFact. Now-if you've ever travelled with a backpack and a dream, you'll know this. image9 What you'll also know is that those experiences made you richer than any possession. That those experiences opened up a place you never knew existed.  You found out with every fear, doubt, uncertainty you had  grew within your mind. It's a growth you allowed to spark, stimulate and strengthen. Does that make us insane?! Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, it is the unknown. We fear the 'what', 'but', 'could'. We fear the imagined. 'In any given moment you have two options: to step forward into growth or step back into safety' Maybe I'll be forever searching for wonderlust. Maybe, the uncertainty of standing still is just a phase. Maybe, were all just winging it- trying to figure out the best route to take. What I am certain of though, is this- Life is a gift. Open it up from different angles. Play with it. Work with it. Most importantly-know you own something greater. Know you own something far stronger than fear. You own Courage. 'I am the master of my own fate, I am the captain of my soul' Be brave enough to travel the unknown path. Be bold and accept the sum of everything that is you-you never were more perfect. By prizing open that fear-know that you will heal it. Because in the end we only regret the chances we didn't take.
